Dental implantology contributes to the replacement of dental support through a system that is integrated to
the bone (maxilar and/or jaw), allowing the former prosthetic rehabilitation of the patient. In other words,
the use of dental implants is the most natural way to replace absent teeth, since it is practically permanent.

Dental implants are made of a highly biocompatible metal, titanium. Through the titanium implants in the bone we
can achieve a long term fix with a direct contact between bone and implant. This is called bone-integration and
it is defined as a direct and functional structural connection between the live bone and the implant´s surface
subject to a functional charge.
